It is capable of suppressing up to 6V in a time-delay mode, with a maximum peak pulse power of 600W. It has a very low forward voltage (0.7V) and a high response time of 5 nanoseconds.The CM1213-06SM is typically used in consumer electronic devices such as personal computers and digital cameras, as well as in industrial electronic equipment such as motor controllers and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). It is especially useful in high-voltage, fast switching applications such as switching power supplies. It also provides superior performance in lightning strike and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.The working principle of the CM1213-06SM is based on the process of avalanche breakdown. When a voltage greater than the diode\'s breakdown voltage (V b ) is applied, the depletion region of the diode\'s junction breaks down and a large current is created. This large current creates a negative voltage at the junction, which in turn causes the breakdown voltage to increase, resulting in further current and voltage generation. This process is known as avalanche breakdown.Once the breakdown voltage reaches a peak value, the diode turns off and the process is reversed. The reverse current is limited by a very small forward voltage drop across the diode. This results in a rapid clamping action that limits the voltage across the junction and safely disperses any excess voltage away from the protected circuit.The CM1213-06SM is a robust and reliable TVS - Diode that provides reliable ESD protection and fast transient voltage suppression. It is well suited for use in a variety of consumer and industrial applications where reliable circuit protection is required.
