Common Mode Chokes
Common mode chokes (CMCs) are electronic components that reduce unwanted electromagnetic interference in power signals. CMCs are usually placed in the power input or output of circuits in order to limit the amount of EMI that can enter or leave the system. Common mode chokes employ a physical construction that is based on an inductor, which is typically a wire winding combination that can be wrapped around a core or not. The working principle of a CM7560R-226 is based on the generation of opposing magnetic fields in an inductive coil. This type of common mode choke has a ferrite core with a wire winding around it. The wire length and number of windings can be varied in order to change the inductance and the operating frequency range of the device. When current flows through the coil, it generates a magnetic flux which is opposed by an equal and opposite magnetic flux created by the core material. This opposing flux reduces the amount of electromagnetic interference that is produced. In addition, CMAC also offers a variety of other common mode chokes, such as the CM7580R and the CM7590R series. The CM7580R is a single winding common mode choke with a wide operating temperature range and high insulation voltage, making it suitable for various EMI suppression applications. The CM7590R is a three winding common mode choke with high inductance and excellent common-mode attenuation performance. These common mode chokes feature a high current tolerance, excellent common-mode impedance from 40MHz to 4GHz, and an integrated thermal protection system, making them ideal for a variety of applications.Common mode chokes are used in a wide variety of applications where the prevention of EMI is important.
