Common Mode Chokes

Common mode chokes (CMCs) are electronic components that reduce unwanted electromagnetic interference in power signals. CMCs are usually placed in the power input or output of circuits in order to limit the amount of EMI that can enter or leave the system. Common mode chokes employ a physical construction that is based on an inductor, which is typically a wire winding combination that can be wrapped around a core or not. These inductors create an opposing magnetic field, which in turn reduces the amount of EMI that can escape or enter the system.The CM7560R-226 is a common mode choke produced by CMAC, a global leader in common mode choke products. The CM7560R-226 is a high frequency Ferrite core common mode choke that features a small size and is ideal for use in a variety of applications. This particular model has an operating frequency range of from 100 kHz to 1 MHz and a nominal impedance of 16Ω. Its typical inductance is 1 mH for a given winding. The working principle of a CM7560R-226 is based on the generation of opposing magnetic fields in an inductive coil. This type of common mode choke has a ferrite core with a wire winding around it. The wire length and number of windings can be varied in order to change the inductance and the operating frequency range of the device. When current flows through the coil, it generates a magnetic flux which is opposed by an equal and opposite magnetic flux created by the core material. This opposing flux reduces the amount of electromagnetic interference that is produced. In addition, CMAC also offers a variety of other common mode chokes, such as the CM7580R and the CM7590R series. The CM7580R is a single winding common mode choke with a wide operating temperature range and high insulation voltage, making it suitable for various EMI suppression applications. The CM7590R is a three winding common mode choke with high inductance and excellent common-mode attenuation performance. These common mode chokes feature a high current tolerance, excellent common-mode impedance from 40MHz to 4GHz, and an integrated thermal protection system, making them ideal for a variety of applications.Common mode chokes are used in a wide variety of applications where the prevention of EMI is important. The CM7560R-226 in particular can be employed for high frequency, precision analog applications such as medical imaging or automotive infotainment systems. With its compact size and wide operating frequency range, the CM7560R-226 is a cost-effective solution for reducing unwanted EMI in your system.
