Working principle

The CMS10I30A(TE12L,QM employs a unique topology that combines low forward voltage drops with fast reverse recovery time. This is achieved through a combination of two switching elements, a first-stage unidirectional element and a second-stage bidirectional element.

When the current passes through the unidirectional element, it is rectified and a voltage drop through it occurs. When the current tries to turn the opposite direction, the bidirectional element kicks in and quickly blocks the reverse current.
