Common Mode Chokes (CMCs) are a type of electromagnetic device used in low-voltage and high-frequency applications. They are designed to provide an efficient current blocking between two conductors. The CMC is a multi-layered electromagnetic device typically composed of two wound toroidal coils, separated by an air gap or insulation material. An alternating current induced into one of the coils will cause a stationary magnetic field to develop in the air gap, creating a current blocking effect between the two coils.
