CSS50024/TI is a DC-DC switching converter IC with integrated high side and low side MOSFETs. It is designed for applications requiring a step-down power conversion from a voltage input range of 5 V to 28 V. It features a dual-output low quiescent current voltage regulator allowing for output voltages of 1.2V and 3.3V. The power conversion is done at full-time skip burst mode, allowing the converter to enable very low operating current while still delivering good performance and good efficiency.The CSS50024/TI has a wide range of applications from automotive to portable electronics. In the automotive field, it can be used to provide power from the vehicle battery to other systems in the vehicle. It can also be used in portable electronics such as cell phones, laptop computers, and tablets to provide the regulated power for the various ICs in the device. It is also well suited for use in distributed power systems where multiple power rails are required.The working principle of the CSS50024/TI is based on the switching converter topology. A pulse width modulated (PWM) signal is used to control a power MOSFET switch. When the switch is on, the input voltage is applied to the output, and when it is off, no current flows.
