CY7B991-7JXC Clock/Timing - Clock Buffers, DriversThe CY7B991-7JXC is a clock buffer and driver designed by Cypress Semiconductor to enhance and simplify the processing of dynamic digital clock signals. It is used to reduce input noise when buffering a clock signal, translate clock frequencies, reduce timing noise and eliminate certain clock duty cycle issues.The CY7B991-7JXC is a highly integrated clock buffer, specializing in the buffering, multiplexing and driving of clock signals. It is suitable for use in applications such as system clock management, clock synchronization and synchronization testing, and is cost effective for use in both commercial and military/aerospace-grade systems requiring secure clock buffering, noise rejection, and high-speed timing accuracy. The CY7B991-7JXC can multiplex up to sixteen inputs and delivers one or four outputs, with each output at a maximum frequency of 450MHz, with a drive capability of up to 25mA of current. The outputs can be configured to enable the customer to control the drive strength, rise time, and fall time. The CY7B991-7JXC has four selectable levels of input filtering (from a minimum of zero lans) as well as an optional output mandatory surge protection. The CY7B991-7JXC is optimized to be used in a variety of applications. It can be used to generate clock signals up to 450MHz and can route up to sixteen channels either independently or combined. It can also be used to synchronize multiple clocks, thus eliminating drift and data jitter. In addition, it can be used to reduce clock duty cycle distortion, reduce jitter and noise, as well as buffering and driving clock signals. In its most basic form, the CY7B991-7JXC is used to buffer and multiplex clock signals, allowing for high-speed clock management and synchronization between multiple devices.
