CY7B994V-2BBC is a high-performance clock generator & frequency synthesizer designed by Cypress Semiconductor Corporation. It can be used to generate high-frequency outputs, reduce jitter and enhance system stability. This device integrates two frequency synthesizer channels and two multipliers together, providing ideal solutions for applications requiring high performance and superior jitter performance. The two frequency synthesizers have complete clock output settings and are able to output more than 30 different locations.

CY7B994V-2BBC consists of two frequency synthesizers, both of which have identical structure and configurations. Each frequency synthesizer consists of several components, including a divide-by-10 frequency divider, a dual-modulus prescaler, a phase-frequency detector, a clock mux, and a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO).

The dual-modulus prescaler divides the input reference clock signal into two signals, with different modulation values and frequencies. The output of the prescaler will then be compared with the output of the VCO, and the difference between the two will be sent to the phase-frequency detector. Based on the comparison results of the phase-frequency detector, a control signal will be sent to the VCO, thus correcting the output frequency of the VCO according to the reference signal.
