DAC7624U

The DAC7624U is an 8-bit high-precision monolithic CMOS Digital to Analog Converter (DAC). It offers high accuracy, low power consumption and high speed performance, making it ideal for a wide range of data acquisition related applications.

The DAC7624U is designed to operate over a wide range of supply voltage from 1.8V to 5.5V, making it suitable for low-voltage applications. The working principle of the DAC7624U is simple and it operates based on the laws of capacitive charge principle. It is a charge redistribution digital-to-analog converter (DAC) which uses an array of 11 capacitors to achieve 8-bits data. The input data is transferred to the first capacitor, and then by tuning each bit of the data the capacitors are modulated and finally the analog voltage is generated.

At the start of the data transfer, a reference voltage is modified to a new voltage level, by adjusting the DAC’s reference voltage. Then, based on the input data, the voltage is further tuned. Finally, the output voltage is generated. This process ensures that the output voltage accurately reflects the input data and produces a perfectly linear output.
