The DAC7678EVM Evaluation Board is a Digital To Analog Converters (DACs) developed by Texas Instruments (TI), designed to demo TI`s 12-Bit, 8-channel, low-power, low-noise, high-speed DAC portfolio. It features a small form factor, excellent performance, and provides an easy way to evaluate TI`s DAC portfolio.The board utilizes a single 12-Bit DAC7678, which is contained on TI\'s TPD-CSP-8 package, thus making the board suitable for space-constrained projects. The board has 8-pin, 2.5mm Pitch Single-ended Connector Inputs/Outputs (I/O) for analog signals. Moreover, this board has a wide variety of evaluation and interface options such as USB Control and I2C Control. The DAC7678EVM Application FieldThe DAC7678EVM provides a fast-track to the development and testing of DAC designs. It can be used in a variety of applications such as motor control, audio, power supplies, lighting, and instrumentation.The DAC7678EVM allows for the easy evaluation of different DAC performance metrics, such as signal-to-noise (SNR) and distortion ratio (THD). The board features a jumper switch which allows the user to switch between differential and single-ended outputs and provides selectable output voltage ranges of 3.3/5V and adjustable gain and offset using the onboard potentiometers.The board is enclosed in a small form factor and has on-board connectors for analog signals which can be connected to test equipment for easy evaluation. The DAC7678EVM can be used for DC and low frequencies (<200kHz). It is also designed to be daisy-chainable, meaning that up to eight DACs can be connected in a chain for evenmore advanced evaluations.The Working PrincipleThe DAC7678EVM works on a simple principle. It takes a digital input signal and converts it into an analog signal through the on-board DAC7678. The board features adjustable potentiometer knobs for changing the offset and gain of the analog output signal.
