Working Principle

The DAT72410U reed relay is an electromechanical device. It consists of a glass tube that contains a pair of electrodes, two stainless steel reeds, a spring and a ferromagnetic core that is used to control the opening and closing of the reeds when the coil is energized.

When the coil is energized, the current passing through it generates a magnetic field that attracts the ferromagnetic core to move towards the contacts. This movement causes the contacts to close, allowing current to flow through the circuit. When the coil is de-energized, the magnetic field collapses and the ferromagnetic core resets the contacts to its original position.

The device is capable of switching more than 1 million cycles and is designed to operate at temperatures ranging from -25°C to +85°C. The device features a UL Class F insulation, which makes it suitable for high-voltage applications.
