DC2123B is a type of evaluation board which is used to evaluate the performance of the non-isolated DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) switch mode power supply (SMPS) components. It serves as a demonstration platform for the various capabilities of these components in these applications. The board has been designed to have a wide range of features, including adjustable switching frequency, adjustable output voltage and current limits, adjustable output voltage and current feedback loops, an adjustable oscilloscope trigger, S sense current and OFF-TIME monitoring, and an adjustable switching delay. By connecting the output to an oscilloscope, it can be used to measure the performance of the output circuit, and to evaluate the linearity and efficiency of the power supply.

The board is built using the power-scale model which is the most advanced 3D model of power electronics used to provide an accurate prediction of the reliability of the device in operation. The power-scale model analyzes every non-ideal characteristic of the device, and calculates the power loss from each one. This enables the board to have an extremely high accuracy when measuring the performance of the output circuit. Additionally, the power-scale model also provides an estimation of the expected lifetime of the device, which is a great advantage when comparing different types of components. Finally, the power-scale model also allows the user to tune the board to maximize the efficiency of the components used, as well as optimizing the board for low cost and high performance.

The DC2123B is configured in a three-phase configuration, making it suitable for applications which require a high power output or for applications where the output has to be switched at high frequencies. The board also has an on-board oscilloscope trigger for measuring the frequency of the output, as well as a current and OFF-TIME monitoring capability. The board also provides adjustable switching frequency, adjustable output voltage and current limits, adjustable output voltage and current feedback loops, an adjustable oscilloscope trigger, and current sense (S-sense) current and OFF-TIME monitoring. The board has also been designed so that the user can easily adjust the switching parameters to optimize the device for their application.
