DC2152A evaluation board is a medium-power, high-efficiency, off-line, Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) circuit. It is a universal AC/DC power supply board designed to convert mains or DC input voltage to a variable output voltage. It fulfills many design requirements, such as multiple output capability, wide input and output voltage ranges, and power factor correction. The DC2152A evaluation board features wide operating input voltage range from 85 to 264 Vac, with an output voltage range of 0 to 370 Vdc. It also has an adjustable output voltage range from 0 to 48 Vdc. It can deliver a maximum current draw of 4.5A and a maximum power output of 700 Weff. Furthermore, it offers ~95% efficiency depending on the load. The core component of the DC2152A evaluation board is the primary side PFC controller IC, LM5028. It serves two key functions; first, it controls the switching of an external N-channel MOSFET to provide a continuous supply of power to the primary side and second, it maintains out-of-phase conduction of the primary current and the input voltage.
