The DC2157A Evaluation Boards – DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS is a switch-mode power supply (SMPS) test platform that allows users to evaluate the performance of different DC/DC converters from various manufacturers. It is designed to evaluate the performance of buck, boost, and other AC/DC (off-line) SMPS converters. This evaluation board can do small part simulation to measure transient response, output voltage and current stability, leakage current, input voltage variation, load regulation, synchronous rectification, output side switching noise emissions, as well as many other factors. The DC2157A is operated by a PC interface via a USB port. Users must select either the DC2157A or DC2237A graphical user interface (GUI) to configure and start using the board. The DC2157A GUI has a comprehensive set of controls for controlling the output voltage, current, and power. It also has a built-in automated performance test feature which automatically tests the performance of the converter in various conditions. The DC2157A can be used with software tools such as the PSoC Designer, PSoC Programming Studio, and PSoC Analyzer.

The DC2157A Evaluation Board has two independent channels for evaluating AC/DC (off-line) SMPS converters. The input voltage can be set in a range from 10V to 36V DC. The output power can be adjusted from 0.1W to 15W and the output voltage and current can be adjusted from 0.3V to 5V and 10mA to 1A, respectively. The board also features two parallel input/output connections, a power supply connector, a power supply input/output connector, and an oscilloscope connector for monitoring the switch node. The DC2157A can also be used for lab measurements and closed-loop experiments by using special purpose cables.
