DC2195B-A evaluation board is widely used to evaluate and design power system, especially for the off-line switching power supply.
DC2195B-A is a low-voltage synchronous buck converter evaluation board. It can be used to evaluate monolithic ICs for cost-effective design of isolated and non-isolated DC-DC converter and for the AC or DC office end power system schemes of power supplies. DC2195B-A can be used to evaluate the TPS4040 dual-phase synchronous buck controller. This controller integrated two independent, isolated, phase-shifted, synchronous buck controllers. The board features enclosed safety frame to facilitate safe operation and fault protection.
DC2195B-A offers a solution to evaluate the efficiency, IC temperature, load regulation, loop response, transient response, start-up, soft start and other features of your design. It also offers onboard test points for fast and easy evaluation. The power system validation can be preformed with a simple setup for either AC or DC input sources. DC2195B-A offers various evaluation functions which can be easily set up through an I2C interface.
The evaluation board comes with the on-board components such as four power MOSFET integrated on the secondary side, two optocouplers integrated on the secondary side, two phaseshift logic integrated on the primary side, two optocouplers integrated on the primary side, two RF chokes, two capacitors, one transformer, two resistors, and two LEDs. All these components are integrated on to a 12-layer PCB with the circuit layout that minimizes the electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise. The maximum output current and output power level can be adjusted by changing the external inductor value, input voltage, and output voltage.
The DC2195B-A evaluation board works by converting an input voltage to a lower output voltage to provide the desired power. It can handle the input voltage range from 12V to 16V and 3V to 16V output range. It has the capability to support 450W of power.
DC2195B-A uses a buck conversion topology and two-phase configuration with the phase shifted controller to achieve a high efficiency. The controller features two integrated power MOSFETs on the secondary side and two driver MOSFETs on the primary side. This provides the highest possible efficiency for a two-phase buck conversion.
DC2195B-A also features an I2C interface PMBus that allows various design parameters to be set and monitored. It also provides an on-board current sensing for more accuracy in evaluating the efficiency of the power system.
