DG417BAK is an analog multiplexer/demultiplexer family belonging to the industry-standard CMOS 4000 series integrated circuits. This device has a 4-bit address, binary or BCD selection and can handle both analog and digital signals in different combinations. The DG417BAK chip offers 8 channels of bidirectional data switching, allowing the user to selectively control and route analog or digital signals from one point to another.

This CMOS analog switch is ideal for a variety of applications, including signal routing, multiplexing and demultiplexing and distributing signals between various analog or digital devices. Its compact size and low power consumption makes it an excellent choice for use in portable or battery-operated systems. Additionally, its low channel-to-channel crosstalk ensures accurate signal transmission, thus making it a viable solution for many multimedia, video and audio applications.

The analog switches provided in the DG417BAK IC family feature low signal distortion, high switching speed and excellent isolation. They are constructed with MOSFET (Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) transistors that are arranged in parallel, allowing low distortion signal transmission while maintaining high switching speed. Additionally, they feature excellent isolation to reduce signal interference in between the channels.

The selection of the input and output signals are achieved by using the address lines. This 4-bit address is closely located next to the output pins for easier trace routing. The chip supports both binary and Binary-Coded Decimal (BCD) address mode, enabling a variety of data routing combinations. The chip also supports multiple address decoding options — enabling the user to output up to 8 signals from a single address.

In addition to the low signal distortion and high speed switching, the DG417BAK also provides an on-chip Discharge Regulator, which helps filter and maintain the input signal level while reducing transitions in noisy environments. This is a great feature, as the device can easily handle low voltage and high voltage digital signals in a variety of places such as instrumentation, motor control and industrial applications.

The DG417BAK also offers a very low power consumption of less than 10mW, as well as better thermal dissipation. The devices are functionally stable over the full commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, making them a great choice for any application that requires high performance switching.

As the DG417BAK supports both analog and digital signals, it is suitable for a broad range of applications including signal distribution, multiplexing, demultiplexing, signal routing, signal measurement and control.
