The DG419LEUA+ is a single-supply, quad monolithic analog switch IC. It is designed to selectively connect one of four inputs to a common output. This versatile switch IC is manufactured using an advanced CMOS process and utilizes split supplies for the control and the analog paths. With an on-resistance of a low 2.2 Ω plus spike-free switching, the DG419LEUA+ is ideally suited for driving capacitive loads and providing low distortion performance in audio and video applications.
The DG419LEUA+ application field includes general-purpose switching applications, as well as analog and digital data multiplexers and demultiplexers. It is also used to provide video signal switching, sample and hold circuits, attenuators and other analog signal switching applications. The DG419LEUA+ is well suited for use in wireless communications and digital radio applications, as the integrated turn-on/turn-off times of 10 ns and 10 µs, respectively, greatly reduce glitches and errors due to CMOS switching.
Working Principle
The DG419LEUA+ operates on a single supply with a low current input logic level of 1.4V and is compatible with both CMOS and TTL logic families. Logic “1” is equivalent to 2.7V and Logic “0” is equivalent to 0V. When Logic “1” is applied to the control input, one of the four single pole-single throw (SPST) switches will be closed and the output connection will be formed. When Logic “0” is applied to the control input, the selected switch will be in an open position and no output connection will be formed.
The DG419LEUA+ has two input levels within the same family (CMOS/TTL) allowing it to switch between low and high voltage signals while providing complete isolation between the control and analog signals. This isolation prevents any interference between the logical and the analog signals.
