DG429DN is an analog semiconductor switch that features an extremely low voltage operation of an Analog Multiplexer/Demultiplexer. It is designed for use in very high performance, low voltage and low power analog switch applications. The device can be used in both single-ended and differential signal paths. It is also ideal for use in digital logic applications where fast switching needs to be performed while maintaining low power consumption.

Application Field

The DG429DN is ideal for use in low voltage and low power applications such as such as communication systems, military systems, and medical systems. It is also be ideal for use in high voltage and high power applications such as industrial systems, automotive systems, and consumer products. The device has low power consumption, is extremely reliable and is small in size, enabling it to be used in locations with restricted space requirements.

Working Principle

The DG429DN utilizes a dual control feature which controls two independent multiplexer/demultiplexer paths. The two switch control lines are pulse width modulated (PWM) to control the duration and polarity of the switch opening or closing. The switching threshold of the device is designed to allow operation at very low voltages, as low as ±1.4V. The device is optimized for fast switching and features low on-resistance and low distortion.

The device supports both high speed and low speed switching modes. In high speed switching mode, the device can switch 158ns and 126ns slew rates. In low speed switching mode, the device can switch in less than 3uS. In addition, the device is able to control the switches with better differential gain and phase performance, allowing it to be used in a variety of applications.

The device also has a low voltage threshold and the capability to operate over a wide temperature range -40oC to + 125oC. The device is designed to minimize RFI and EMI signatures. The device also has an embedded thermal protection feature which will shut down the device in the event of an over-heating situation.
