The DG508ADY+ is an active low-on resistance analog switch IC, featuring a transistor-transistor logic-compatible single pole 8-way multiplexer/demultiplexer. This device allows the connection of two independent circuits to a common bus. Select line switching is enabled by turning ON/OFF a “control” output under the control of a select line. It is suitable for applications with large voltage or current swings where low-on resistance is required. It also provides excellent isolation and low distortion for two-way or multidirectional signal transmission.
In general, the DG508ADY+ is designed to switch analog signals with a low-on resistance in the range from 0.7V to 6V between two independent circuits. It offers an active low-on-resistance of 0.35Ω. It also features very low distortion, excellent isolation, and high speed switching.
The select line switching is enabled by turning ON/OFF a“control” output under the control of a select line. The DG508ADY+ can be configured in either multiplexer or demultiplexer mode. In multiplexer mode, the device switches a single input channel to the corresponding output channel. In demultiplexer mode, the device switches an input channel to a number of output channels. The device also features a power-up reset circuit to ensure that all switches are in the OFF state during power-up.
The DG508ADY+ is designed for applications such as signal routing or transducers, transducers isolated galvanically from the driver or receiver, frequency or data-rate conversion, high speed signal conditioning, fast clock generators, or electrical load switching. It is also suitable for use in multi-channel analog or mixed signal instruments, and high speed data communications.
The working principle of the DG508ADY+ is based on the application of transistor-transistor logic (TTL)-compatible logic-level signals to the select lines to control the switching of a “control” output between its low-on state and its high-off state. When a select line is in its high-off state, the control output of the DG508ADY+ is in its low-on state, connecting the corresponding input and output channels. If the select line is in its low-off state, the control output of the DG508ADY+ is in its high-off state, disconnecting the corresponding input and output channels.
In addition, the DG508ADY+ also provides temperature-independent output switching for temperature- dependent applications, excellent noise immunity, wide power supply voltage range of 2.7V to 6V, very low-on resistance, low quiescent current, and low distortion. All of these features make the DG508ADY+ an ideal solution for applications requiring low-on resistance, excellent isolation, and low distortion.
