The DP83822IFRHBR is a full-duplex dual port Ethernet physical layer transceiver for 100/1000-Mbps data links. It is designed for use in gigabit, fast Ethernet and 10/100 Mbps applications. This transceiver is optimized for high-speed backplane and cable links and offers integrated features to provide excellent signal integrity. The transceiver has two-lane (2x link) full-duplex links and one-lane (1x) half-duplex link. The integrated driver/receiver pairs are optimized to support each of the Ethernet media access control (MAC) functions. With extensive on-board signal processing functions and unprecedented low power operation, it enables high-speed and high-performance gigabit and fast Ethernet and 10/100 Mbps links.Application Field

It supports a variety of applications customer segments, including servers, enterprise, consumer, storage, consumer devices, automotive and industrial. The versatile, integrated drivers and receivers are designed for use in copper cable ( backplane and copper media ), as well as copper and fiber-optic backplane applications. The DP83822IFRHBR is ideal for server and storage designs, as it enables a seamless transition from 10/100 Mbps to gigabit speeds. The device is especially suitable for high-end storage, clustering and enterprise networking applications, where the need for reliable, high-speed data transmission is significant. The DP83822IFRHBR supports dual simultaneous, full-duplex links with link rate of up to 2.5Gb/s. This enables systems to efficiently balance bandwidth, as well as reduce latency and power consumption in both applications and data center networks.Working Principle
The DP83822IFRHBR is a dual-port transceiver supporting the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standard. This device integrates a gigabit media independent interface (GMII) to interface Ethernet frames with a MAC device, including link up and link down control. The transceiver consists of an integrated transmit/receive pair for each port and integrated backplane/cable driving and detection logic. It also incorporates an integrated clock / data recovery (CDR) with an adjustable bandwidth.The DP83822IFRHBR operates as a digital interface between a MAC layer device and the physical medium. On the transmit side, it receives the transmitted frame from the MAC layer device and converts the digital symbols into electrical signals. On the receive side, it converts the incoming electrical signals into digital symbols for delivery to the MAC layer device.Additionally, DP83822IFRHBR includes support for various layers of power management including link power management, energy efficient Ethernet, and deep sleep mode support. Link power management enables active or low power mode of operation, while Energy Efficient Ethernet provides a significant power reduction of up to 80%. The integrated clock and data recovery (CDR) also helps to reduce power consumption. Furthermore, the transceiver has industry leading low power consumption, making it an ideal solution for high-reliability applications.Conclusion
