The DP83820BVUW is a compact, high-performance, single-chip media access controller (MAC) for 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet networks. It is designed for high-performance, interoperable full- and half-duplex 10/100/1000 Mbps applications. The DP83820BVUW includes support for IPV4, UDP, and TCP, and provides throughput that is optimized for wire-speed operation on 10/100/1000 Mbps networks. The DP83820BVUW is ideal for applications such as home networks, consumer/small-business solutions, as well as IP cameras and digital video/audio broadcast devices.
The DP83820BVUW is a single-chip, high-performance integrated transceiver with a media access controller (MAC). It is compliant to IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standards and supports IEEE 802.1P/Q networking protocols. It also supports TCP/IP offload engine, FEC, and supports IEEE 802.3az energy efficient ethernet (EEE). It features an integrated frame buffer that allows for efficient transfer of data packets, as well as a mechanism for tag based priority for each packet. Additionally, it features two receive queues with two priority levels and four transmission queues that allow for a more equitable distribution of traffic. It also features direct memory access (DMA) and reduced latency for data transfer from the system’s main memory to the Ethernet transceiver.
