Application Field

The DP83848HSQ/NOPB transceivers are ideal for use in high-speed applications such as Internet, network gateways, data hubs, access and home networking, cellular phones, and other devices requiring physical layer transmission over cabling systems. It also functions as an Ethernet bridge between multiple devices over several media formats.

Working Principle

The DP83848HSQ/NOPB transceivers contain built-in pulse-shaping circuits and echo cancellers, which significantly reduce transmission and discovery delays. This helps ensure data integrity and provides enhanced detection performance of link-level faults. The signal amplifiers, transmitters, and receivers feature adaptive equalization and high signal-to-noise ratios for improved network quality. It also operates with 2.5V and 1.8V power supplies.

The built-in media-independent interface (MII) allows full-duplex communications with an active data rate of 10Mbps, 100Mbps, and 1000Mbps. The device also features an on-chip router and built-in echo report and timing recovery function, which allows it to interact with advanced communications devices such as multi-layer switches and 10GE routers.
