Working Principle:
The DRV10964FFDSNT is a two-channel motor controller device that utilizes a combination of a buck-boost pre-regulator and two linear channels to provide multiple operating modes, such as drive and direction control, torque control and velocity control, which is suitable for controlling most high-power BLDC motors and brushed motors. Its functional blocks are set up such that, there is an analog and digital interface block, gate driver stage, gate drive block, gate voltage feedback, preregulator, and finally power output stages.
Input pulses are monitored through the analog block and converted into appropriate control signals for the Gates and Motors. The Gate Driver stage drives the N-channel MOSFETs, consisting of two high-side switches and two low-side switches, to deliver current to controlling motors, allowing them to move. The gate voltage feedback block monitors the voltage across the external MOSFETs and controls the current to the MOSFETs to prevent over-voltage. The Preregulator is responsible for supplying the drive and logic circuits in the chip with constant voltage, while the Power Output Stages provide the voltage and current necessary for the motors.
