The DRV8838EVM (Evaluation Module) is one such product which is used to demonstrate and evaluate the DRV8838 Stepper Motor Driver Board. The DRV8838EVM is capable of driving up to 4 motors, or 2 depending on the operational mode, making it suitable for use in a variety of applications.
The DRV8838EVM is a eightteenth-size evaluation board designed to interface with microcontroller platform boards or Arduino compatible development boards. It includes an integrated protection circuit which minimizes the number of components that need to be incorporated into the end application, ensuring the board\'s longevity and reliability. It also offers a number of power and interface options, including a 2-6V power supply, I2C/UART/SPI communications, and a microstep selection of up to 128 steps per motor cycle. The board also features an indicator LED and a number of configurable switches which allow the user to configure and control the operation of the DRV8838EVM dynamically.
The DRV8838EVM is designed to drive any two phase motor such as stepping motors, dc brushless, servo, linear, and DC motors. It provides a maximum output current of 4800mA, in two 1800mA output channels, controllable in 128 microsteps resolution, and can operate up to 15V. It is also equipped with two independent low-side MOSFET drivers in a half-bridge configuration and a single full-bridge MOSFET driver, which provides overcurrent protection.
