DS1085LZ-25+ is a low-jitter voltage controlled clock oscillator (VCO) from Texas Instruments’ family of clocks and timing solutions. The VCO provides an output frequency of between 20 and 140MHz, with a typical jitter of 0.3ps RMS. The integrated frequency synthesizer (IFS) provides a frequency resolution of 38.5ppm and the VCO offers frequency agility with the help of an input voltage or the use of the UART interface. It has a low-power footprint that can operat in ambient temperature range of -40 to 85°C and is available in several packages.This VCO is ideal for applications requiring low jitter, low power consumption and frequency agility. These include networking, communications, embedded, medical and test applications.The DS1085LZ-25+ has two main components: an oscillator and a frequency synthesizer. The oscillator generates a clock signal at the desired frequency. It consists of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), a buffer, and a phase-locked loop (PLL).
