The DS14285Q also contains a separate oscillator which can be used to provide up to ±2 ppm accuracy in temperature ranges up to +125°C.The DS14285Q’s oscillator has two different control modes. The first mode is an asynchronous mode, in which the clock is kept in an active and accurate state regardless of the processor’s activity. The second mode is a synchronous mode, in which the clock tracks the processor’s activity and runs at the same speed as the processor.The DS14285Q can provide up to 32bits of alarm resolution, which can be used to provide precise alarms for a variety of applications. It can be programmed to provide alarms for specific times, intervals, or special events. The device also contains a RAM for storing user-defined data.The DS14285Q is designed with built-in fault detection and diagnostics. This allows the device to detect any potential errors in the oscillator, RAM, or other systems and perform basic self-tests periodically.
