One of the applications of DS1705EUA is to provide over-current and over-voltage protection. This function is mainly realized by the current monitoring amplifier, voltage monitoring comparator and protection diode. The amplifier monitors the instantaneous current output from the power supply, and immediately decides whether to maintain operation or initiate reset as soon as the current output exceeds the threshold. The comparator monitors the voltage output from the power supply, and its output will also be transferred to the trigger circuit. When the voltage output exceeds the threshold, the output of the trigger circuit will be reset or the other predetermined action will be triggered. The protection diode will be activated to prevent the circuit from entering the over temperature state by limiting the voltage output.
DS1705EUA is also Professional to provide power on reset and manual reset in PMICs. Its POR circuit is mainly composed of resistor R1 and capacitor C2. When the power is turned on, the capacitor will be charged quickly at first, and then slowly charged again, when it is full, that is, when the voltage output exceeds the threshold voltage, the reset output switch is enabled and a reset signal is sent to the power circuit. This will ensure the system runs normally after power up.
