Additionally, the DS1708ESA+T&R also includes a watchdog timer and an adjustable restart threshold. The watchdog timer can be enabled or disabled via logic signals, while the restart threshold is adjustable with an external capacitor.

The temperature monitoring feature of the DS1708ESA+T&R includes a temperature sensor and overtemperature detection (OTD) circuit. The temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the application system, while the OTD circuit is used to detect when the system’s temperature exceeds a certain set point.
