The DS1819AR-5/T&R are performance-driven, high voltage VMCs that have been designed to meet the requirements of high-reliability and advanced polysilicon applications. Application Field

The DS1819AR-5/T&R belongs to the DS1819AR-series and is suited for a range of applications such as supply voltage monitoring (e.g. high or low voltage protection) and thermal protection. The series includes three parts: DS1819AR-1, DS1819AR-5, and DS1819AR-T&R. The DS1819AR-1 is used for low-power applications, while the DS1819AR-5 and DS1819AR-T&R are suitable for high-power applications. The DS1819AR-5 and DS1819AR-T&R have the same function, with different power rating.

Working Principle

The DS1819AR-5/T&R are voltage monitoring circuits that continuously monitor the voltage of a system. When the voltage passes through a certain threshold, the output will be activated, either high or low, depending on the value of the Vref pin. The output will remain active until the voltage returns to its original value.

The hysteresis of the DS1819AR-5/T&R series can be adjusted with the R1 and R2 external resistors. The resistors are factory-configured, however they can be adjusted in order to tailor the hysteresis more accurately to the application\'s requirements.

The devices also feature an adjustable pull-up current which can be used to better match the power rating of the peripheral circuitry in the system. This is done by connecting a resistor to the INT pin in order to select the desired pull-up current value.

Additionally, the DS1819AR-5/T&R have a thermal protection feature which is enabled when the thermal sensing circuit on the die detects an unsafe temperature rise, usually due to excessive operating conditions.
