DS4510U-5 is an integrated circuit supervisor in the line of Application-Specific Standard Products (ASSPs) from Dallas Semiconductor. This supervisor was designed to provide undervoltage monitoring and power management control for low-power systems. Its input voltage range is 1.6V to 5.5V, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. The DS4510U-5 is an integrated circuit supervisor for power management control and power supply monitoring applications. The working principle of the DS4510U-5 is based on a voltage comparator and a timer. When power is applied to the IC, the voltage comparator compares the input voltage with the programmed UV threshold. If the voltage is below the threshold, an interrupt signal is generated and an internal timer starts counting. Upon time-out, the device deasserts the interrupt signal. When the input voltage is greater than the programmed UV threshold, the device deasserts the interrupt signal and resets the timer.
The DS4510U-5 also integrates a low-dropout regulator (LDO) circuit for providing supply voltage for the reset, reset timer and the interrupt signal outputs. The regulator is usually powered from the main supply with a 1.8V to 5V range. The output from the regulator is regulated to 3.3 V, which is then used to power the reset and timer functions.
The DS4510U-5 also has an input window comparator, which is used to provide optimal undervoltage protection. The window comparator has two separate input pins, and if the voltage at either pin drops below the preset level a shutdown signal is generated and the rest signal is toggled.
The DS4510U-5 provides a high level of reliability, as well as undervoltage protection.
