At the heart of the EDK107M025A9HAA is an electrolytic aluminum foil which acts as the “electrode.” During manufacture of the capacitor, this aluminum foil is etched to form a “fingered” pattern. An electrolyte is then applied to the surface of the aluminum to create an electric double layer called the Dielectric. This creates an Electrolytic Capacitor.The EDK107M025A9HAA operates on the following principle. When voltage is applied to the capacitor, charge is stored in the electrode-dielectric junction.
