EG01CV1 Application Field and Working Principle

EG01CV1 is a high Power, medium voltage, fast switching, electronic rectifier module. It consists of two pairs of MOSFETs connected in forward blocking bridge configuration for three-phase applications.

This type of module is used in applications such as railway traction,-servo motor control, electric bikes and UPS power systems.

The main advantages of using this type of rectifier module include high efficiency, fast turn-on, wide input voltage range and high surge capability.

Working Principle

The EG01CV1 module rectifies AC voltage to DC voltage using a bridge rectifier circuit. The rectified voltage is then applied to the load. This process typically uses two pairs of MOSFETs connected in forward blocking bridge configuration.

First, the voltage across each of the two power MOSFETs is monitored. When the forward blocking voltage across the MOSFETs rises to a certain voltage level, the power MOSFETs will switch on, thereby connecting the rectified AC voltage to the load.

Once the forward blocking voltage reaches a certain level, the MOSFETs will switch off, disconnecting the rectified AC voltage from the load, resulting in a steady DC voltage.

The output voltage is regulated by controlling the switching frequency and duty cycle of the MOSFETs. If the output voltage is too low, then the MOSFETs will switch on for a longer time and vice versa.
