Working Principle of Optoisolator EL3033S(TB)-V

At the heart of EL3033S(TB)-V optoisolator is an LED shining into a photosensitive MOSFET or transistor. When the LED is illuminated, electrons in the MOSFET or transistor become excited, generating the necessary gate current to turn on the SCRe or triac. The higher the current flowing through the LED, the greater the gate current generated. When the LED is not illuminated, there is no gate current, the MOSFET or transistor remains off.

Application Field of EL3033S(TB)-V

The application fields of EL3033S(TB)-V optoisolator are twofold: firstly it can be used for triac-controlled motors where the level of isolation needed is greater than provided by a simple mechanical let through. Secondly EL3033S(TB)-V can be used to replace SCRe in industrial applications where a physical connection is impractical or too costly.
