EL3041S(TB)-V Optoisolators are optically coupled devices that offer high input-to-output isolation and a variety of output logic. The part number is a combination of the output type, input logic, and other variations. The EL3041S(TB)-V is a Triac, SCR Output Optoisolator that offers exceptional reliability, with a strong isolation barrier between the input and output, that protects the input circuit from externally generated electrical noises. The EL3041S(TB)-V consists of an input LED and an output Triac-SCR module; it is used to isolate and control AC power loads. With up to 9500Vrms common mode insulation, the EL3041S(TB)-V is designed to isolate low voltage circuits from high voltage AC applications. The device eliminates the need for dedicated heat sinking and helps to reduce inventory and assembly costs.
Application Field
The EL3041S(TB)-V is used across a wide variety of industries including; industrial controls, automotive, medical, consumer products, office equipment and HVAC systems.The EL3041S(TB)-V is suitable for isolation and control of all AC loads operating at mains voltage, such as motor starting circuits, temperature control circuits, lamp drivers and power supplies. It can be used to control resistive loads such as lamps, contactors, heaters, light bulbs, and AC motors; as well as capacitive and inductive loads such as capacitors, transformers, relays, generators and solenoids.Working Principle
The EL3041S(TB)-V works on the principle of optical isolation. When an input voltage is supplied to the LED, it produces light that is directed to a light activated Triac-SCR output module. The light activates the SCR, allowing current to flow, thus producing an output current. When the output current is less than the holding current of the Triac-SCR, it will be automatically switched off due to the natural turn-off feature of the module. The EL3041S(TB)-V also features an integrated temperature sensor which is capable of automatically adjusting the output current and triac holding current. This ensures maximum reliability and efficiency in all applications.The high input-to-output isolation of the EL3041S(TB)-V ensures that interference and electrical noise generated externally will not affect the integrity of the system, thus protecting the AC load from potential damage. It is also capable of operating over a wide temperature range from -40 to +100°C.Conclusion
