EL7536IYZ-T13 is a DC-DC switching regulator solution by Efficient Power Conversion (EPC). It is part of a family of integrated FETs, drivers, and controller ICs specifically designed to provide compact, multi-topology and multi-phase solutions while meeting the strictest requirements of energy saving and cost-effectiveness.

The EL7536IYZ is an integrated, non-isolated voltage regulation system in a 16-lead, 4mm x 4mm TQFN package. It integrates an internal 4-channel, 2-phase synchronous buck controller, 2 low RDSON N-channel power FETs, plus a low-side current-sense circuit. It allows for the buck operation of up to 8.5V from a high voltage DC input.

Working Principle

To better understand how the EL7536IYZ achieves its efficient and fast response performance in buck switching regulation, the following explains its working principles.

The EL7536IYZ features the internal 3-0-3 regulator. This three-stage architecture includes a feedback loop, a voltage sensing stage, and power FET driver stage. The feedback loop of the EL7536IYZ controls the system output voltage, while the voltage sensing stage senses the output voltage and sends it to the feedback loop. The power FET driver stage then drives the two power FETs with the proper gate signals for efficient output power conversion.

The EL7536IYZ also features an adjustable output voltage range from 0.75V to 5V. The user can set the minimum output voltage using an external resistor. The voltage sensing stage is also split into two independent outputs with a dedicated resistor used to sense the output current or voltage. This feature makes it suitable for applications with dual output voltage requirements. The EL7536IYZ also features programmable switching frequency up to 1MHz which enables it to achieve higher power density and efficiency.
