EPC1213PI8 is a configuration Prom which is specially designed for different kinds of FPGAs. It is an extended 32-bit non-volatile memory with a number of parameters, including an 8K x 8 bits of configurable flash memory and a 13-bit counter. EPC1213PI8 has two common operating modes: Reading and Programming.

EPC1213PI8 is ideally suitable for the applications which require reliable data readings and programming activities. It can quickly provide a read-only memory for FPGA configurations. The extended 32-bit non-volatile memory configuration is robust and offer high speed results. EPC1213PI8 can provide cost-effective solutions for applications where system performance, low power consumption, reliability, durability and high density are important factors.
Working Principle of EPC1213PI8
EPC1213PI8 uses a 13-bit counter to store information which is later used to read or program the 8K x 8 bits of flash memory. The 13-bit counter stores the startup address of the configuration Prom. With the 13-bit configuration address, the EPC1213PI8 then reads or writes data to the 8K x 8 bits of configurable Flash Memory. It can store up to 64K bits of internal data. During the programming process, the configuration address will increment automatically after successfully writing a byte of data. All the data can be transferred with very low voltage (1.8V) and high speed up to 20MHz.
EPC1213PI8 also has some additional features. It supports two-bit error detection and two-bit correction codes. Additionally, the interface of EPC1213PI8 is designed to be hardware configurable and can provide the new address while a write operation is ongoing to allow multiple configurations. It also supports the multiple input/output stages and the bidirectional signal outputs.
In general, EPC1213PI8 is a specially designed configuration Prom for FPGAs and it can quickly provide a reliable read-only memory. It accelerates the operation of FPGA programming, has a long lifespan and offers a cost-effective solution for reliable data readings and programming activities.
