They are also widely used in the military aviation industry, aerospace electronics, and instrumentation. The ESW227M025AG3AA is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor product.
Application Field
This series of aluminum electrolytic capacitors have a rated voltage range from 2.5 to 250V and are mainly used for dc-link circuits or smoothing after rectification circuits. It can be applied in power supplies for PCs, communication networks, instruments and meters, home appliances, lighting, electric tools, digital products, and automotive electronics, etc. It can also be used for the military aviation industry, aerospace electronics, and instrumentation.
Working Principle
The working principle of the ESW227M025AG3AA aluminum electrolytic capacitor is based on maintaining equilibrium between two almost impermeable but slightly soluble plates or electrodes in a conductive electrolyte. The permeable membrane separates the two plates so that the electrolyte can easily move from one to the other plate. This process occurs when a voltage is applied across the plates. The electrolyte between the two plates carries other particles that migrate to the designated plate, eventually forming an electric double-layer on the plate. As the current passes through the plates, the electric double-layer between them develops, increasing the charging capacity of the capacitor.
The capacity of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is higher than other types of capacitors due to its physical properties. The film of electrolyte acts as a dielectric, and the thickness of it determines the capacitance values of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor. When charged, the electric double-layer of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor acts like an insulator, preserving the charge inside it. The plate spacing and the width of the electronic double-layer together decide the capacitance of this aluminum electrolytic capacitor.
The most important structural element of this aluminum electrolytic capacitor is an anode foil. This is made up of aluminum and is usually etched based on electrolytic deposition. The plane surface of the electrode is embedded in an absorbent sheet, which can easily absorb the electrolyte between the plates during assembly. It allows efficient distribution of the foil plates and helps to operate the design with high accuracy.
Operating Conditions
This aluminum electrolytic capacitor has an operating temperature range of -25°C to 85°C and a humidity range of 85%RH. They have a long shelf life of 5 to 12 years. The tolerance for capacitance is ±20% depending on the temperature and voltage rating. The standard frequency rating for the ESW227M025AG3AA aluminum electrolytic capacitor is 50 or 60Hz. The voltage ripple is usually less than 120mV/μs at 20°C.
