FAN1086D33X consists of an N-Channel Transistor and two P-Channels. The N-Channel Transistor acts as a pass-MOSFET to switch the input voltage to the output voltage through the two P-Channels. The two P-Channels act as a voltage regulator. The two P-Channels sense the output voltage through a feedback path and adjust their operating voltage to maintain the output voltage constant. The N-Channel Transistor is thermosonic and its resistance is temperature dependent. As the temperature of the N-Channel Transistor increases, the resistance of the transistor also increases and consequently the load current decreases. This ensures that the output voltage does not exceed the rated voltage.The FAN1086D33X also has an external component, the output capacitor, which is used to buffer the load current. This capacitor will supply the load current during periods of peak power demand or when the supply voltage is low.
