Working Principle
The FCP1206C223G is a non-polorized aluminum film capacitor, which consists of an aluminum electrode and a dielectric layer of polypropylene film, with a plastic container that has axial leads. The aluminum electrode and polypropylene film are rolled together and sealed with plastic to form a capacitor. The aluminum electrodes deliver internal electric fields to the dielectric, creating a capacitor. When the capacitor is being applied with a voltage, electric charge builds up on the two electrodes, forming an electric field between them. The electric field produces a force that forms an electric dipole in the dielectric, and energy is then stored in the form of an electric dipole. The electric dipole balances the charge on each side of the capacitor and becomes the polarized capacitor. The dielectric also plays an important role in the capacitor’s behavior, it provides a high dielectric constant, which means the capacitor can store more energy than other types of capacitors.
