Film Capacitors

Film capacitors are capacitors with a dielectric which is a plastic film. This film is made of either polyester (most common), polypropylene, polycarbonate, polystyrene, polyethylene naphthalate or a combination of two or more of these materials. The films are metallized, or coated, on both sides for use in capacitors. The metal layer is usually aluminum, zinc or copper.
