The FEB178 Evaluation Boards are predominantly used for the DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS applications. The FEB178 evaluation boards consist of two ends – the main circuit edge (MCE) and the secondary circuit edge (SCE). The MCE consists of four rectifiers and one controller whereas the SCE consists of an auxiliary winding, an inductor, a capacitor and an opto-coupler.

The working principle of a FEB178 evaluation board mainly lies in its components, i.e. rectifiers and controllers. The alternating current (AC) supply given at the MCE is changed into a direct current (DC) by the rectifiers. The controller, then, converts the DC voltage into the required DC or AC voltage output.
