The memory FM93CS56M8, is an 8K byte (1024×8) Serial EEPROM. It supports a wide voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V, and operates at very low power consumption. It is widely used in various data storage products, such as automotive ECU, smart energy products, IOT devices, and more. As a type of non volatile memory, this product is capable to retain data even when power supplies are interrupted.

The FM93CS56M8 is a Serial EEPROM which consists of 8K bytes and is interfaced using either the two-wire or the three-wire serial interface. The two-wire serial interface is based on the I2C protocol. It is comprised of a Serial Data (SDA) line and a Serial Clock (SCL) lines.The three-wire serial interface is based on the industry standard SPI protocol. It is comprised of Chip Select (CS), Serial Data (SI), and Serial Clock (SCK). The programming instructions of the FM93CS56M8 can be carried out in parallel or in serial. The FM93CS56M8 supports the Random and Sequential programming modes for changing the data stored in the memory.

The FM93CS56M8 supports two-byte block write with two byte address setup sequence. This memory allows the user to write up to 32 bytes of data in a single write operation, resulting in significant reduction in programming time. Furthermore, the FM93CS56M8 can be operated at lower speed to reduce the current consumption. It supports standard serial interface speeds of up to 400KHz for the three-wire interface and up to 2MHz for the two-wire interface. The FM93CS56M8 also supports a unique feature setting that reduces the brown-out current consumption to a minimum.

Other than the programming operations, the FM93CS56M8 also supports several security-related functions. It provides the user with the Serialization and Data Protection (SDPC) which allows them to protect their information. It also provides the user with a unique Block-Lock Bits which allow them to control access to memory blocks in order to protect private data stored in the memory. The user also have the option to enable the Security Options that will make the memory protected against malicious software.
