FOD8321R2 is a type of Isolator and Gate Driver device that is used as an interface between a low power control and a higher power electrical circuit, allowing the safe isolation of power, ground and controls between the two circuits. It is designed to be used in situations where transient voltage spikes and noise can affect the performance of electrical components.The FOD8321R2 isolator & gate driver device consists of a power supply module (PSM), an impedance control module (ICM), and two floating and isolated linear MOSFETs. It can be used to provide a control signal to a wide range of power circuits, such as motor controls, DC-DC converters, UPS systems, and switching power supplies.The PSM module contains a power supply that is used to supply power to the ICM and the MOSFETs. The ICM module is responsible for providing an adjustable, low impedance switch between the power supply and the MOSFETs. The two MOSFETs are used to provide a low-side and high-side switch with the ability to deliver up to 30 A of continuous current.
