Optoisolators - Triac, SCR output are used to isolate signals electrically. The FODM3053R4V is an optoisolator for AC applications. It has a two channel Triac or SCR output for controlling AC loads up to 20A at 250V. Electrical isolation is provided in both directions. The particular optoisolator has separable leads with 1/2" pitch for direct mounting on PC board or other compact mounting in a control panel.

Application Field of FODM3053R4V

Working Principle of FODM3053R4V

The FODM3053R4V working principle is based on the use of a LED opto-isolated. The device features a gate-coupled 1/2" pitch separated with two leads: one being the input and the other the output. The LED is triggered using an opto-sink. It is an analog device an works with a variety of applied voltages.

The current flows through the LED when external voltage is applied. The process trans-conductance effect of the LED triggers a pulse, and the amount of current is proportional to the signal of applied input voltage. The opto-isolator contains a zero gate current which gives a little more accuracy when negotiating a high resistance line or current.

The resulted signal it then converted into a light signal. This is why the LED needs the least of 7V to work correctly. Once the signal is being converted into light beams, they are sent through a pentagrid optical coupler, with two parts connected with a darkroom. The first part emits light while the second captures the light signals and produces a road signal. This process is called opto-isolated, because it can maintain the electrical isolation between input and output.

The FODM3053R4V application field and working principle is based on using the optical isolation and power switching technology. It can control up to 20A at 250V for AC applications.
