Working Principle of FST6345M

The FST6345M works based on the principle of three phase rectification. The device applies three phase alternating current to its input, which is then rectified via the internal rectifier of the FST6345M. Guidelines as shown in the following figure.

First and foremost, each phase is fed through the series connected diodes of the rectifier. With each cycle, the current from one phase gets fed with the help of one diode and the opposite polarity is blocked with the help of two opposed diodes. This produces a single pulsed output of each phase, each placed aware from the other by one-third of a cycle.

Then, based on the configuration of the rectifier, the outputs of the various phases can be finally combined. In the case of half-wave rectification, one output is enough combining the two phases shifting the current by one-third of a cycle. While, in the case of full wave rectification, the required three outputs are provided with the help of three diodes. Moreover, a three-phase full wave rectification option can be used should all the three phases be combined within the rectifier.

The FST6345M also helps in reducing interference caused by harmonic current. Its integrated snubber circuit absorbs harmonics, preventing interference to other equipment within the machine. This makes the device both stable and reliable when used for rectification.
