FT93C46A-UTR-T is a kind of non-volatile serial EEPROM from Microchip Technology Inc. It is a chip with the parallel address bus and three-wire serial I/O control. Working Principle
The FT93C46A-UTR-T consists of 128 8-bit registers that store 8-bit words. Data can be read from, or written to, each register. It can be read directly or via a serial shift register. To read data serially, the chip first shifts out of the addressed register the desired bytes, beginning with the least significant one. After all the shifted data is sent, the chip then sends a start bit followed by 8 bits of the next data byte. Data will be shifted out of the chip until the Sequential Read/Write Mode is terminated by sending a Stop-Bit. To write data serially, the chip must first receive an 8-bit command from the host controller and before the actual data is to be written. Here are the three main programming operations that can be applied to the FT93C46A-UTR-T: Write Word (or Byte), Sequential Read/Write and Chip Erase.
