TVS diodes are devices that provide protection to subsystems from transient voltage dips, surges, or electrical discharges. Transient voltage suppressors (TVSs) are commonly referred to as “transient voltage surge suppressors” (TVSSs). These devices are essentially low-impedance diodes which can be used to protect against electrical surges, and protect sensitive electronic systems from being damaged or destroyed.

GSOT08-G3-08 applications and working principle is one of the most low power diodes for transient voltage suppression (TVS) application. This device is designed for use to protect against ESD (electrostatic discharge) and other over voltages in the latest high-speed data communication applications. It is based on the proven Zener breakdown mode of protection. This device offers a low working voltage, a low clamping voltage, and a fast response to transient over-voltage.

The GSOT08-G3-08 is a two terminal device and can protect against ESD and other over voltages in a narrow range of working voltages from 0.3V-W to 50W. The device has a low breakdown voltage of 0.3V-W and a low clamping voltage of 5W. It also provides a fast response time of less than 1µs. The response time of the device is determined by the internal capacitance and the resistance of the diode.
