Gas Discharge Tube Arresters (GDT)

A Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) arrester (also known as a surge arrester) is an electrical device designed to protect electrical systems and components from damage or destruction due to transient overvoltage caused by external or internal disturbances. GDT arresters are commonly used in a wide variety of applications, from residential facilities to industrial power centers.The GTCA28-501M-R10 arrester is a UL Listed and RoHS compliant surge arrester that is suitable for use in residential and light-to-medium commercial environments. The arrester is rated at 10kA and offers energy absorption capabilities up to 20kA. If the surge exceeds the arrester rating, a spark will jump across the spark gap, creating a high-voltage arc. This arc travels through the GDT, creating a low impedance path to the ground. As a result, the surge is diverted away from the protected equipment and discharged safely to the ground.The GTCA28-501M-R10 arrester is used in a wide range of applications, from residential homes to light commercial areas.
