Analog switches are capable of switching multiple analog signals between essentially any source without loss or distortion. Analog multiplexers (muxes) can combine multiple analog signals into one, while a demultiplexer (demux) takes one analog signal and distributes it to a variety of outputs. The HI4P05-09-5Z96 from Huali is an extremely advanced device designed to switched high-speed serial systems with a variety of different connections and configurations.
The HI4P05-09-5Z96 is ideal for use in automation, communications, automotive and defense applications which require multiple analog signals to be switched on the fly. The device’s unique architecture uses dual CMOS switches with a differential amplifier to ensure high-speed switching without loss of information. The result is a total end-to-end switching time of <19µs with efficiencies up to 99.99%.
The device is capable of accepting multiple input signals and distributing them over an 8-bit data bus. The device is capable of transferring up to 9 mV of differential signal from the input to the output with a single rail supply of up to 3.3V. The HI4P05-09-5Z96 also supports low-power operation and has a low supply current for hot-insertion and hot-swapping of devices.
The device features an integrated clock driving circuit which can be configured to generate a minimum clock frequency of 1MHz. This is done by taking an input clock frequency and multiplying it by up to 16x through an on-board clock divider. The device also supports multiple data formats including S-LVCMOS, D-LVCMOS, SPI and LVDS.
On the output side, the device can switch up to 8-bits of data over a 3.3V supply. The device is also capable of switching analog signals in both directions and has an adjustable off-state leakage current of <3µA. This ensures that no signal is lost when the device is off and ensures it operates efficiently at all times.
