The HIP6021EVAL1 Evaluation Board is designed for use with the HIP6021 High Voltage, Low Power Voltage Regulator. It is a complete power supply unit for the economical evaluation of low voltage, low power DC/DC and AC/DC off-line switch-mode power supplies (SMPS). This evaluation board combines the circuit simplicity of the HIP6021 Regulator together with an external sense resistor to produce a regulated output. This device is suitable for battery-operated and low voltage systems.

This Evaluation Board integrates the HIP6021 Regulator directly with other components required to form a complete SMPS. An integrated input rear-end rectifying diode, input filtering capacitor and output sense resistor are accurately mounted on or near the board and provide the basic components of a complete off-line SMPS. This configuration allows the designer to evaluate the SMPS performance at different loads and evaluate the effectiveness of the output voltage regulation.

The HIP6021EVAL1 Evaluation Board is provided with an extensive software package for monitoring, testing, plotting, and measuring the performance of the regulator. All parameters can be measured including peak current, voltage drop, average current, and output voltage ripple. The evaluation board also has a wide range of features that allow the user to customize and optimize the power supply settings as needed.
