HIP6302CBZA is an advanced synchronous step-down control IC dedicated for DCDC switch mode power supply applications. It is suitable for a wide input voltage range of 6V to 40V and provides high efficiency conversion at a range of output voltages up to 5.5V. HIP6302CBZA is optimized and calibrated to deliver high efficiency and excellent transient response. In order to ensure reliable performance and protect the system, the device includes over current protection (OCP) and over temperature protection (OTP).

Working Principle

HIP6302CBZA utilizes the synchronous step-down regulator topology with the user-defined output voltage in the range of 0.8V to 5.5V. It implements proprietary VID current technology that enables high efficiency while maintaining high peak current capability. This solution is based on the phase-shifted PWM architecture that provides smooth pulse-by-pulse current share current distribution in multi phase applications.

HIP6302CBZA features integrated voltage detector for power-on management, open loop operation for the switching frequency, fast system response, duty cycle control to prevent sub-harmonics, fast transition from PFM to PWM mode, dynamic current limit etc. The device also provides adaptive slope compensation that improves stability and transient response in dynamic applications. It is also available in a wide temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.

HIP6302CBZA provides integrated internal power MOSFETs with an output current up to 10A. This solution eliminates the need for external MOSFETs and is ideally suitable for applications related to portable battery charger, computer systems, industrial automation, electric vehicles, etc.
